Jack Black is to again team up with director Richard Linklater for a new comedy.
The funnyman worked with the filmmaker on 'School of Rock' and now the pair will work together once more on 'Bernie', a dark comedy which also stars Shirley MacLaine.
The film is set in the small town of Carthage, Texas, and tells the tale of Black's alter-ego Bernie - a community leader and mortician - who befriends a wealthy but demanding widow, played by MacLaine.
However, tragedy strikes when he accidentally kills her, but the laughter returns when he desperately tries to convince everyone she's still alive.
Shooting is set to start in October.
Black's next big screen outing is 'Gulliver's Travels', while Linklater is in the early stages of directing a 12-year film production, which charts the growth of a boy and stars Ethan Hawke.
MacLaine last appeared in 'Valentine's Day'.
