UK govt urged to give Rover more cash
The British government was urged today to reconsider the funds it was making available to help retrain MG Rover workers after a new report argued more money will be needed to help the 5,000 ex-employees find new jobs.
The Work Foundation said the level of retraining needed to get the Longbridge workers back into employment would require far greater resources than have been earmarked.
Around £150m (€219m) has been announced by ministers to help workers affected by the collapse of the car giant.
