Huge bomb is diffused in Derry

A bomb has been made safe in the north.

A bomb has been made safe in the north.

The device, which contained 60 pounds of home made explosives packed into a barrel, was found in a car boot in Derry.

The vehicle was abandoned in the Waterside area of the city on Sunday.

Police believe there was a plan to lure them to the area then set off the device by remote control.
