Bolton defender Anthony Barness has signed a new two-year contract at the Reebok Stadium.

Bolton defender Anthony Barness has signed a new two-year contract at the Reebok Stadium.

The 30-year-old’s current deal was due to run out in the summer but with Premiership status assured manager Sam Allardyce wasted no time in tying the former Charlton player down.

Barness made a total of 25 league appearances last term and is the first of a host of out-of-contract Bolton players to pledge his future to the club.
