EastEnders' actor Dean Gaffney has been suspended by the BBC for a maximum of two months.

EastEnders' actor Dean Gaffney has been suspended by the BBC for a maximum of two months.

A spokesman would not say why Gaffney, who plays Robbie Jackson, has been suspended but press reports suggest he made a personal appearance without his producers' permission.

It has been suggested the ban could cost him around £12,000 in pay. The spokesman said the suspension would probably last a month.

Meanwhile, the spokesman denied reports that Phil Mitchell plot lines were on a scriptwriter's laptop stolen from his home. He said there had been a number of break-ins around the area where the writer lives.
