Two killed as US helicopter lost

A US army helicopter “went down” today north of Baghdad and two US soldiers were killed, the US military said.

A brief statement did not identity the type of aircraft nor say why it was lost.

Names of the dead were withheld until their families are notified.

Iraqi witnesses said the helicopter was shot down near Taji, about 12 miles north of the capital.
