The Taoiseach has thanked Beverly Cooper-Flynn for her work on the Dail Public Accounts Committee.

Speaking in the Dail, Bertie Ahern said Deputy Cooper-Flynn had made "a wise choice" in putting the interests of the committee ahead of her own personal interests.

The Mayo TD resigned from the Committee yesterday following the outcome of her libel trial against RTE.

Mr Ahern added that he would not comment on her position any further until a decision on an appeal was made.
