Stranded men airlifted from Howth Head cliff

The Irish Coast Guard was involved in a rescue operation on Howth Head this afternoon when two men became stranded on the cliff face.

The Irish Coast Guard was involved in a rescue operation on Howth Head this afternoon when two men became stranded on the cliff face.

The Coast Guard received a call from one of the men by mobile phone at 3.40pm. Its Howth unit and the Coast Guard helicopter based at Dublin Airport were immediately dispatched to the scene.

The men were winched to safety uninjured.
