Banotti begins Afghanistan tour

Irish MEP Mary Banotti is beginning a ten-day visit to Afghanistan and Pakistan today.

Irish MEP Mary Banotti is beginning a ten-day visit to Afghanistan and Pakistan today.

She is travelling in her role as a goodwill ambassador to the United Nations.

Ms Banotti said she is particularly looking forward to seeing children's lives return to normal after the fall of the Taliban.
