Ireland lock Jeremy Davidson has been ruled out of Saturday’s Six Nations match with France after being injured in a club match at the weekend.

The Castres player wrenched ligaments in his left knee and broke a bone in his right hand during his team’s defeat against Beziers on Saturday.

A club doctor said Davidson would be sidelined for approximately three weeks and will be doubtful for the trip to Cardiff to play Wales on March 3.

He will be replaced by Gary Longwell from Ballymena.
