Man facing 91 charges relating to social welfare fraud

A 36-year-old man has appeared in court in Roscommon facing 91 charges relating to social welfare fraud.

A 36-year-old man has appeared in court in Roscommon facing 91 charges relating to social welfare fraud.

Martin McDonagh of 4 Railway Court, Newtownbutler in Co Fermanagh appeared before Harristown District Court this morning.

The offences - which amounted to tens of thousands of euro - were committed in post offices across the country including Cavan, Letterkenny, Kells, Ballinamore and Carrickmacross.

Mr McDonagh was remanded in custody to appear at Harristown again on Friday October 14.
