Pair charged with manslaughter of Galway publican

Two Romanian nationals have appeared before Galway District Court today, charged in connection with the death of John Kenny.

The 56-year-old Galway publican was found dead in his pub in Oughterard on September 25 last year.

Marian Lingual (aged 36) with an address in Cork, and a 17-year-old male, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were both charged with manslaughter and withholding information in connection to the incident.

Both were refused bail.

Mr Kenny was found dead with his hands tied behind his back at his pub in Oughterard last September.

A post mortem showed he had been assaulted.

Both men have been remanded in custody to appear again in court next week.
