Large sum stolen in Down robbery

Police in the North are investigating the theft of a large sum of cash during an armed robbery at a house in Newry, Co Down, early today.

Police in the North are investigating the theft of a large sum of cash during an armed robbery at a house in Newry, Co Down, early today.

The PSNI said the lone robber, who was armed with a handgun, approached two men outside a house in the Mayobridge area at 12.30am and demanded cash.

The man escaped with a blue holdall containing a large sum of money in euros and sterling, along with car keys and a mobile phone.
