Gildernew wins decision to keep seat

Sinn Fein’s Michelle Gildernew has won the right to remain on as MP for Fermanagh/South Tyrone.

Sinn Fein’s Michelle Gildernew has won the right to remain on as MP for Fermanagh/South Tyrone.

The Belfast High Court dismissed judgement on an action launched by UUP candidate, Mr James Cooper, that the result had been affected by the polling station being kept open beyond 10pm.

Judges did find that votes had illegally been cast after polls closed however.
