The British supermarket chain Tesco has announced plans to introduce 24-hour shopping at its store in Dublin’s Clearwater shopping centre.

Tesco said the store in Finglas would remain open around the clock between 8am on Monday mornings and 10pm on Saturday nights.

It said the move was a pilot scheme to test the viability of 24-hour shopping throughout Ireland.

If the trial is successful, the company is planning to extend the scheme to its 78 outlets nationwide.
