There are fears of a republican feud, with reports that members of the so-called Real IRA have issued death threats against members of the Provisional IRA.

There are fears of a republican feud, with reports that members of the so-called Real IRA have issued death threats against members of the Provisional IRA.

The Belfast-based Irish News newspaper is reporting that two Provisional IRA men have been told they are on a death list.

It is claimed the dissident group is intent on revenge for the killing of Joe O'Connor, a senior Real IRA figure, who was shot dead as he sat in a car outside his mother's house last October.

In recent days, a teenage cousin of O'Connor's was abducted in west Belfast and beaten with hammers. He is expected to undergo surgery today.
