Burglars in England stole Christmas presents that had been donated to a girl suffering from a long-term illness, police said.
The electrical items were stolen from a house in the Hawkes Hill area of the Saffron Lane Estate, Leicester, on Monday evening.
Detective Constable Gemma Bennett, of Leicestershire Police, said: “The victim’s daughter has been suffering from a long-term illness and some of the items stolen had been bought or donated to her to help in her recovery.
“As well as the electrical items that were stolen, a family album of photographs was also taken during the incident and these are of great sentimental value to the victim.”
Among the items stolen was a 42“ LG television, a Sony PS3 Console and games, a gold Belcher bracelet, a Ralph Lauren tracksuit, a black Nintendo Wii and accessories, an Apple iPhone 4S and pink Dell Inspiron laptop computer.
The incident took place between 5pm and 9.15pm after the property was entered through a back door window that was smashed, police said.
Ms Bennett added: “We would urge anyone who knows anything about the stolen items or the incident to contact us.
“The smallest of detail could help with our investigation. Any calls received will be treated in confidence.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Ms Bennett on 101, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer’s identification number, 4534.
Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
