Moore presents united front

West Brom defender Darren Moore has insisted there is no problem with team spirit despite the weekend row involving striker Lee Hughes.

West Brom defender Darren Moore has insisted there is no problem with team spirit despite the weekend row involving striker Lee Hughes.

Hughes came in for strong criticism for his performance from several of his team-mates after the 1-0 defeat by Everton at Goodison Park.

But Moore is adamant there is a united front amongst the players.

He said: “Any team after a defeat has differences of opinion.

“In a team of strong characters, who all want to win, it would be strange if that was not the case. Players will always express opinions and maybe criticise each other.

“If a team is trying to be as good as it can be, that has to be the case. This is something that has been blown out of proportion.

“I know it is something that you read about from time to time about the big teams like Manchester United.

“There are sometimes reports in the papers of rifts when all it has been is players expressing an opinion, saying their thing. That’s natural.

“That will happen in every dressing room in every club around the country after a defeat. Albion is no different to any other club.

“But you will not find a group of players more determined to do well than Albion’s. We are in harmony.”
