The North’s Police Board has cancelled its first ever public meeting, which was scheduled for tomorrow.

The decision was taken to allow board members more time to discuss their response to the Police Ombudsman’s scathing report into the police hunt for the Omagh bombers.

The board - an independent body established under the Good Friday Agreement to oversee policing in the six counties - failed to reach agreement on what stance to take, despite discussing the issue until midnight last night.
