US warns of fresh terror threat

The US Government has warned Americans living in the Gulf states to be wary of possible terrorist attacks.

The US Government has warned Americans living in the Gulf states to be wary of possible terrorist attacks.

An official in the State Department said a communications intercept contained strong indications of an imminent attack on the Arabian peninsula, probably in Saudi Arabia or Kuwait.

On June 22nd, the State Department issued a similar warning, prompting a Marine Corps contingent in Jordan to cut short its training session and the US 5th Fleet to send its ships out to sea from a port in Bahrain.

Today's warning made no reference to Saudi terrorist Osama bin Laden, but he is understood to be the reason behind the warning.
