Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf and Afghan President Hamid Karzai discussed how they could jointly fight terrorism and Islamic extremism along their shared border when they met today.

Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf and Afghan President Hamid Karzai discussed how they could jointly fight terrorism and Islamic extremism along their shared border when they met today.

“People from both the countries are suffering under the hands of extremism and terrorism,” Musharraf said during a news conference in Islamabad.

Touching on an issue of conflict between the two leaders, Karzai said that while militant activity in Afghanistan was decreasing, it was also rising on the Pakistan side of the border.
