Dermot Weld’s six-year-old has been given 9st 11lb in the £190,000 (€265,900) showpiece at York on August 20 following his famous success at Flemington last November.

The Irish trainer has put in three other horses – Mobasher (8st 11lb), Direct Bearing (8st 4lb) and Lowlander (8st 10lb).

Aidan O’Brien, successful with Mediterranean two years ago, has made just one entry – Handel, who finished eighth to Alamshar in the Budweiser Irish Derby.

Michael Stoute has the biggest entry – eight – as he attempts to take the Knavesmire showpiece for a fourth time, following Shaftesbury (1980), Deposki (1991) and Clerkenwell (1996).

His team comprises Supremacy (9st 4lb), Researched (9st 4lb), Distinction (9st 1lb), Global Challenge (8st 11lb), Manoubi (8st 5lb), Hawk Flyer (7st 12lb), Dalaram (7st 11lb) and Hasanpour (7st 2lb).

Last season’s winner Hugs Dancer (9st 6lb), trained by James Given, could bid for back-to-back victories.
