Man in critical condition after Down assault

A man in his mid-20s is in a critical condition in hospital today after suffering serious head injuries in an overnight assault in Bangor, Co Down.

A man in his mid-20s is in a critical condition in hospital today after suffering serious head injuries in an overnight assault in Bangor, Co Down.

A second man also needed treatment after the assault on Main Street, but was less seriously hurt.

They two were found lying in the street by a passing taxi driver late last night.

Police have arrested four men in connection with the assault.
