Files on suspected wrongdoing at Anglo Irish Bank are to be received by the DPP later today.

It is understood that up to 14 people my face criminal prosecutions in relation to white-collar crime at the bank.

Two files are to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions, one relating to back-to-back transactions totallig €7.2bn involving Anglo and Irish Life and Permanent and the other relating to the so-called 'Maple 10' who bought Anglo shares using money from the bank.

Yesterday, the Justice Minister said gardaí were confident that charges would be brought.
