Bayern Munich join United at the top of Group A after a 1-0 win over Boavista.
The only goal of the game came when Lizarazu got to the byline and crossed for Santa Cruz to calmly head the ball home.
Ottmar Hitzfeld's side only got into the game in the second half after a string of substitutions but once they did Boavista seemed to have no answer for the German side.
