A search has begun in China to find the owner of a pink cat.

The moggy - whose unusual colour, from its whiskers to the end of its tail, and yellow collar makes it look like the kitty from children's TV show 'Bagpuss' - was spotted walking the streets in the city of Lanzhou.

The cat was discovered wandering around by Yao Xianhai, who thought his eyes had become "blurred" when he first spotted the pink pet.

He said: "I thought I had a blurred vision, but I then realised it was truly pink coloured."

It comes after four felines were found with pink fur in May, which was thought to be because they had come into contact with a red dye used at a nearby concrete factory.
