Man shot dead in Belfast gun attack

A man was today shot in a gun attack in Northern Ireland, police said.

A man was today shot dead in a gun attack in Northern Ireland, police said.

The attack happened on Stephen's Street - behind the city centre offices of the Belfast Telegraph newspaper - where it is understood he was sitting with his wife.

An ambulance arrived at the scene shortly afterwards.

It is understood the dead man had recently been linked in a Sunday newspaper article to the Belfast drugs underworld.
