Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty's drug arrest on Saturday cost him $90,000 (€74,000) after he failed to attend a lucrative gig - despite organisers financing a private jet.
The troubled British rocker, 26, was arrested in London for alleged possession of hard drugs and driving under the influence. He was released on bail Sunday.
But executives at Austria's FM4 radio network were so keen to have the rocker honour his commitment, they squandered $36,000 (€29,700) having a Learjet and full crew stationed at London's Luton airport.
A spokesman for the troubled star says: "Babyshambles were scheduled to perform in Graz on Saturday, but Pete was unable to make it after being arrested in London."
An insider tells British newspaper Daily Mirror: "The promoters organised the jet for 6pm. It was held for 5 hours, until it became clear Pete wasn't going to make it."
