A Hong Kong author has written a joke book with comic strips about the Tiananmen Square massacre.

Tiananmen, Not The Truth has a front cover featuring then president Deng Xiaoping holding a cigarette in one hand and a red flag in the other.

It follows the recent publicity over the Tiananmen Papers and the Chinese official response, June 4: The True Story.

Author Jokei Chan Man Sang has written the book to lampoon the Communist authorities.

He said he has launched it to cash in on the interest caused by the Tiananmen Papers.

The book has an initial print run of 10,000 copies.

Its jokes and comic strips follow the events leading up to the 1989 crackdown.
