Bus crash injuries not life threatening

A coach that was carrying 50 students crashed off the road in Co Mayo this morning.

A coach that was carrying 50 students crashed off the road in Co Mayo this morning.

A fleet of ambulances has been called to the scene of the accident near the village of Mulraney in Achill.

The students and two teachers were returning from an adventure outing in Achill and a number of injuries have been reported.

Members of the emergency services say it is too early to comment on the extent of the injuries but none are believed to be life threatening.

Some of the casualties are being treated at the scene while others are being brought to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar.
