Residents in low-lying areas near the Mississippi River have been told to prepare for the worst following days of severe rainfall.

Record river levels have been recorded in Memphis, and many residents may have to evacuate their homes if the river bursts its banks.

In Tiptonville, 100 miles to the north, 75 homes remain under water and a fifth of the town has suffered some level of flooding.
