Injured Dudd, Oakley missing for Saints

Captain Jason Dodd and midfielder Matthew Oakley are still missing for the visit of Newcastle on Sunday as Southampton head coach Steve Wigley bids for his first victory since taking charge.

Captain Jason Dodd and midfielder Matthew Oakley are still missing for the visit of Newcastle on Sunday as Southampton head coach Steve Wigley bids for his first victory since taking charge.

Dodd has failed to recover from the back injury which has kept him out for the last month while Oakley is not yet fully fit after damaging his knee in pre-season.

Swedish defender Andreas Jakobsson will make his home debut with Wigley poised to name the same side which drew 0-0 at Charlton on Monday.

Latvian striker Marian Pahars is still sidelined by an ankle problem while defender Michael Svensson is out until November following knee surgery.
