Bohemians had to settle for a point against 10-man Vikings, who defended doggedly throughout a one-sided match.

In what was new boss Gareth Farrelly’s first game in charge, Bohs dominated the first half but both James Keddy and Bobby Ryan both missed sitters.

Glen Crowe headed against a post while Colin Hawkins shaved the bar with another header as Bohs laid siege to the Vikings goal from the resumption.

Vikings' cause wasn’t helped by the sending off of skipper Marc Kenny for a second booking for dissent on 68 minutes.

Stephen Caffrey rescued Bohs on 85 minutes when clearing off the line from Tony O’Connor before Barry Ryan made good late stops at the other end from Dave Morrison and Thomas Heary.
