Edward Roshea was in a New York suburb when he fired at a moving object 40 yards away, then heard screaming.

He told police he thought the pair were turkeys coming over the hill. An investigation has been launched.

His 26-year-old friend Jennifer Gregory suffered three pellet wounds to her arm and shoulder and was released from hospital after treatment.
